How our Dietitians can help

By carefully assessing an individual’s dietary habits, health goals, and medical history, a dietitian can design tailored meal plans and offer expert advice to ensure a well-balanced and nutritious diet.

Metabolism Testing

There is more to metabolism than “slow” or “fast”. Efficiency at burning fat, preferred fuel source and understanding how energy is utilised at a cellular level can help optimise nutrition. We use Indirect Calorimetry to understand your unique metabolism functioning.

Eating Disorders and Emotional Eating

Disordered eating (i.e., Anorexia, Bulimia, Orthorexia and Binge eating) can affect anyone at any stage. Body for Life dietitians are highly experienced and have undergone additional training to keep up with new evidence and work in this area.

Fertility Nutrition

We support people through all stages of life, including exciting, life-changing events. It is never too early to prepare for this stage of life by optimising your health and beginning to care for your future children through nutrition.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

We have undergone additional training via Monash University on the low FODMAP diet for IBS. We have a wealth of knowledge, tools, and skills to support you in managing IBS and alleviating symptoms.

Diet Plans

Whether you want to lose “weight”, burn fat, build muscle or improve your lifestyle, we can provide tailored advice and help you plan your meals to achieve your nutrition goals. With in-house body scanning also available, we can help you to track your progress and overcome any hurdles.

Metabolism refers to how your body processes food and utilises nutritionally derived energy for bodily processes and daily functions. Metabolism can be affected by a variety of factors, such as:

    • Food intake
    • Activity levels
    • Family history and ethnic background
    • Sex
    • Age
    • Hormone levels
    • Stress levels

As such, any changes in metabolism can affect many things, including weight management, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions.

There is more to metabolism than “slow” or “fast”. Efficiency at burning fat, preferred fuel source and understanding how energy is generated at a cellular level helps to optimise nutrition. We use Indirect Calorimetry to understand your unique metabolism functioning. Indirect Calorimetry is a well-researched tool used in various settings such as hospitals, research, and Body for Life. We will use this information to create a tailored roadmap to optimise your metabolism.

Chronic gut disturbances such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can disrupt daily life. IBS can be painful and embarrassing, leading to you avoiding certain situations or planning activities around IBS symptoms. Substantial evidence, particularly in the last five years, has shown an association between IBS and mental health, how an unhappy gut can affect your mood and vice versa.

There are many factors, in combination, that support managing symptoms and restoring microbiome balance within the gut:

    • Prebiotics and probiotics
    • Food diary/log
    • Low FODMAP diet
    • Elimination and re-introducing of triggering foods

Our dietitians have undergone specialist training in this area and can help you manage and alleviate your symptoms through diet and nutrition. Contact us to book in.

Parental nutrition, particularly maternal nutrition, can have an impact on conception, healthy pregnancy, and post-partum recovery, irrespective of whether conceiving naturally or through IVF. It also can have a significant effect on your future child’s health and their chances of developing chronic health conditions.

Nutrition is even more critical when you are living with a chronic health condition (e.g., type 2 diabetes)- research shows that it can take up to 12 months to optimise one’s nutrition and health for fertility.

Emotional eating can feel like a vicious cycle that does not seem to have an end. However, there is a way out. Our dietitians can support you to break out of the process by:

    • Understanding your emotional patterns
    • Identifying triggers
    • Developing new coping habits
    • Create supportive emotional hygiene patterns
